I will go next july to Australia from Spain, and one of the places I want to visit is Daintree. I have some questions about:
- Which is a good place to look for accomodation, that allows me to do day trips around the area?
- I have thought to travel with public transport, is this possible in Daintree or I need a car?
I would appreciate some other advices. |

Hi Tortuga,
Have a look at these two websites:
http://www.daintreecoast.com/
and
http://www.daintreevillage.asn.au/
They are both very good and have most of the accommodation houses listed as well as most of the many activities and things for you to see and do in the area.
You should stay here as long as possible (minimum 2-3 days) so that you can see and do everything in a relaxed manner.
You can get here by public transport but I think it is much better to hire a car so that after you get here you can go where you want, when you want and stay as long as you want.
Driving to here from Cairns is no trouble - good roads and good views along the way.
You may of heard about Cyclone Larry that just hit near here. Much damage done south of Cairns in the Misson Beach area but here nothing happened here. Situation Normal! |

| Around 100 kms or a 1.5-2.0 hour drive depending on where in Cairns you start from. |
