Hi,
I am heading up the Bloomfield Track late June and was wondering what to expect as far as conditions go. Has it been a big wet ?? What are the creek crossing levels etc. We are travelling in a Nissan X-trail, fitted with 50mm lift and BFG all terrain tyres. Should we take a tarp for the water crossings.
Thanks. |

Hi bas,
One never knows what to expect up here.
It has been a small to medium wet this year. But Cape Tribulation has just received 129mm in the last 24 hours.
Creek crossings are usually quite okay unless you are following a heavy rain on a high tide. In which case you just wait for the tide to fall back down.
It will be fairly unusual to get a big rainfall at that time of year.
Bring your tarp - then you won't need it. Lol! |

Hi,
I plan to drive the bloomfield track mid october. Do you think that would be all right? Do I need a special 4WD? Because I was going to hire an outback wicked camper, the last one you can see ont his page : http://www.wickedcampers.com.au/Pricing/
They told me it was a 4wd but do you think that will do?
Otherwise, where could I find cheap 4wd? The other price are 140 dollar/day!
Thank you for your answer, I really do not know what to do.
